Assistant Design Manager, The University of Chicago Press (2005-present)
Administrative responsibilities include schedule oversight for 6 designers and the maintenance and development of department databases and procedures. Design approximately 20 books a year. Compose 4-6 books per year using InDesign.

Senior Designer/Technical Coordinator, The University of Chicago Press
(1998-2005)
Administrative responsibilities: Developed art guidelines for the Press which were adopted by the AAUP. Developed a PDF workflow for the department. Created standards for pdf documents for the Bibliovault. Designed and deployed databases for tracking the department archive of cover and jacket keylines. Designed The Chicago Homer web site. Designed 35 books per year. Composed 6-8 books in house
per year.

Senior Designer, The University of Chicago Press (1992-1998)
Design 35 books per year. Composed 5 to 6 art books a year. Developed and maintained department font library. Recommended purchase of computer hardware for design department. Using Fontographer, altered typefaces for use in books composed in house. Trained the rest of the department in Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. Instituted in-house archiving procedures for coves, jackets and books.

Junior Designer, The University of Chicago Press (1989-1992)
Managed 200 reprint titles a year. Reprint work included paperback conversions of jackets, frontmatter alterations, specifying type for new essays, patch corrections, and complete resetting of books. Dummied large illustrated science and art books using traditional techniques of paper and wax. Used Ventura Publisher to compose 4 books a year. Designed 3-4 new books per year

Publishing projects
Storyhead Magazine (1992-1999). Started in 1992 with writer and poet Joe Peterson. Storyhead was a magazine devoted to the illustrated story. We edited, illustrated, composed, and promoted the magazine. We published and distributed 10 issues.
